Installing Speed-Bleeders & Fluid Question

Is there any order to install the Speed-Bleeders correctly. I plan to do it Passenger Back, Driver Back, Passenger Front and then Driver Front. Going to use Valvoline Syn for the fluid. Does it come DOT 3? How much do I need to purchase?

Thanks......

Mike

I'm interested also in any replies ..

I have speed bleeders also to install but I haven't been able to get the old front bleeder screws broken free yet so I haven't installed them .

I don't think it matters which order you install the bleeders in .

What matters is the order in which you bleed them .

I would think 2 quarts would be enough to change out the brake system but I don't know for sure .

Just my .02 cents.

Bumping...

I'm also curious about the bleeders and fluid guys are using. What make/model bleeders are you guys installing.
Anybody against the bleeders? Causing problems?
Thanks

The ones for my 02 are SB1010. The fluid I plan to use is Valvoline Syn. All that I have read about them has been very positive. I think I will spray the old ones with a little PB to loosen them up before I remove.

I am sure a member who has used them will chime in with fluid recommendations and quantity.

I've used the ATE Super Blue & Amber fluids for years now. They work great and it's EASY to see the difference in color when you've flushed out the other color fluid.

Thanks for all the help. 2 quarts sounds good. Can't wait to get them in. Here's the automobile application page for SpeedBleeder. com to match your truck.

Interesting the application page shows the 3824 for a 250, and the 1010 for a 350.

Thanks for the info guys.

Ok just a little FYI. I bought the speed bleeders for a 06 f350(3824) and they are the correct ones listed BUT, they are not long enough, the hex head on the speed bleeders is bigger and does seem to bottom out before I am 100% confident that the bleeder is seated properly. Yes they work but I do not like that the hex head bottoms out, so I got the longer ones (3824L). They measure 1.50 inches and now I feel 100% confident that the bleeders are seated all the way. Just wanted to share this since it's the brakes on a hd truck and these bleeders seem to be more popular now and would hate to see anybody have a problem over a silly but critical part. Better be safe than sorry and has anybody else encountered this?

my opinnion on stuck bleeders, use a 6point socket or end wrench.I also got a tip from a wise old man, when working on brake lines & bleeders always tighten first to break rust loose then loosen.it has worked most every time with brake lines and about 50% on bleeders.good luck on stuck bleeders.

I must admit they work and work good. Changed out brake fluid in ten minutes all by my lonesome, they are VERY convenient and super easy install (there design takes care of install) so pretty much a win win. Has any body else encountered the hex head bottoming out at just about the same point that it seats it's self, way to close for comfort in my opinion, I mean it's like right there, I could feel it seat but ever so slightly, a temp change may accually cause a leak the fit was so close , just use the longer ones and presto brake bleeding becomes to easy
