Is it a good idea to remove the compressor the owner before me removed the belt that made it run so now it just sits should I remove its a 1970 f250 360
I don't know a lot about this but I've been going to school for auto for about 3 years now...Do you know if the A/C compressor still works? I would suggest maybe trying to run it with a belt before removing it. However, I live in SoCal so Air Conditioning is kind of important! If it doesn't work, I believe you can get it charged, but usually if these units are broken, they are for good. And if its out of coolant, that coolant is illegal in most states I believe now. So if it doesn't work or you just have no real use for it, I don't see a point in keeping it. Just be careful uninstalling it and refer to this site a lot for help if you're not sure what to do next to remove it! Pictures help sometimes to!

Do you know if I'll need any other adapters besides unpluging
First just try to turn the thing by hand to see if it is froze up or hard to rotate. You have to grab the center part of what looks like the pulley. The outer part should spin freely as it engages via a switch and clutches.
If it is frozen up go ahead and remove it if you like, but know that there is a chance there is still pressure in the system. You can check one of the schrader valves before you start undoing the lines. If it has pressure have a shop get it out of the system.
