I have a 98 F150 Super Cab w/ 4.6 auto transmission.
I have just replaced the heater core and when I went to disconnect the transmission cable under the dash I noticed the plastic bushing was cracked. When putting the cable back on the bushing broke all together and the truck wouldn't go in gear. I ordered a new cable from Rock Auto and installed it . When I went to put the truck in gear that cable bushing near the column bent and cracked. What am I doing wrong? Am I missing something?
Yes, I'm in Gulfport off Canal. I'll be home from work after 4 tomorrow and I'll call you then if that's fine. I really appreciate your help. I'm at 228-239-0645.
