Finally getting around to installing some of the pile of parts I've accumulated. Want to hook my gauges to the dimming circiut for the dash lights. I tried putting a meter to the wires coming out of the two plugs connected to the lights and dimming switches but can't see a voltage drop on any of them when operating the dimming switch. Don't have access to a wire diagram right now. Any one know which wire I should be tapping into??
Thanks,
I just went through this with the installation of my Eclipse AVN62D. Right at the dimmer switch is a light blue wire with red stripe that we can hook into that provides the circuit the radio is looking for in order to DIM.
Tim,
Thanks for the reply. It sure does help. It confirms what I found.
I had a DUH moment. I went back to work on it and realized I ddin't have the lights on when checking for variable voltage the first time. With the lights on the bottom inboard wire, light blue w/red stripe, has variable voltage on it.
