I personally have always had an aversion to rebuilt titles unless I can see the before damage. For them to buy it without getting photos and detailed documents on the damage - to me anyway - shows they don't really know what they are doing/selling, just buying something to make a quick buck. Risky to say the least from their point, unless they are targeting those that don't know to do their homework (suckers to put it another way).
If they could at least provide info to reach the person who rebuilt it maybe - MAYBE I'd consider it, but as it sits now, I'd walk (run) away. Having a great looking truck that eats tires because the frame was damaged or something else just isn't worth it.
As for those wheels - hideous in my opinion. Anything 'spindly' looking just doesn't inspire confidence. Something that big and heavy I think needs to roll on wheels that look substantial.

I have heard of horror stories about salvaged title vehicles from others, but speaking from experience; I have owned two of them. Never had a problem with either one of the vehicles themselves. The only problem that I ran into was the vehicle warranty was void. Some dealerships might handle it differently, but they would not do any factory recalls on the car (not safety or emissions).

Found this via Google. Must have been the person he bought it from: VIN: 1FMNU42SX3EC70761 - Ford : Excursion LIMITED 03 EXCURSION LIMITED 2010 FRONT CLIP
On the other hand, this came up in the sidebar of the eBay listing. Is the dog really lifting his leg on the car?

I've found contacting the seller is a good way to get a better insight into the auction. I found a stunning mid-80s Mustang on Ebay and called the guy on the car because of a salvage title and I realized this was not a good car to buy. Absolute slick car salesman type. I've found some guys are very good at manipulating auctions.

I know this one has had the front end redone, but a 2x4, AND salvage title...it makes the price WAY too high considering the incredible amount of unknowns.
And maybe it is just me, but I can't say I like the new front ends. They look almost too tall for the truck...all grille and very little bumper/hood...and the lights look too tall. If the high beams were separate from the lows, maybe, but I just can't get behind the current layout.
Just my opinion...

I don't think anyone is saying 4x2 is bad - if you never go off road then 4x2 is just fine, but that price for only one drive axle doesn't make much sense...they need to lop off a couple of grand. If they bought it for 15k, IMO they were taken and now they are trying to recoup some of their losses...
