At first my code reader said P0603 KAPWR Circuit so I replaced the CPS and it would start again but Die after 5 min. It would drive about a half block and die and not start right away. So now it gives me code P0232. so should I pull my tank and clean the pickup filter. By the way Im at 1/4 tank. I did some searches
And every thing sounds like clogged fuel system . is there two pumps? one in tank and one on frame?
Agreed with the CPS, however the P0232 does point to a fuel pump circuit issue, did you clear the code after replacing the fuse?
If the truck is stock you only have 1 pump, on the frame rail below the DS door. In tank mods are good preventive measure anyway. You could try adding more fuel as 1/4 tank you might be missing a pickup foot that fell off or cracked.
The fuel pump is on the frame rail. The fuel tank is good to go ahead and look at but it seems like your pump is dead, did you open the drain on the bowl at least to see what kind of flow you have?
The white plastic thing is the mixing chamber and that is what usually clogs. I would do the mods(and have) since you are in there, it keeps air out of the fuel as well as keeps from having to drop the tank again. I personally did not install the airdog or lift pump, simply installed an inline filter from NAPA just before the pump.
well when I pulled my mixing chamber the two tube screens were about half clogged with black sticky stuff. so I did the tank tube thing. Now that the tank is in I pulled the fuel filter and drained the bowl. I closed the drain and turned the key on bled the air out and did a fill test. It took 15 seconds to fill to the bottom of the threads that the filter cap threads to. I thought its supposed to take 3 seconds ??? If this is true I'm going to check the inlet side of the pump and clean it if any thing is there!
