Why do you have to drain it? I don't really know what the conversion entails but if it has play I'd say you have loose bearings. If it had new bearings and races which I spose it would have with new parts. maybe a race wasn't seated all the way. How much play? I always leave a very slight amount when all is tightened, just enough you can barely feel it. or you might have got the outside nut tightened correctly but the inner was still loose. It happens... or a lot of other things could cause it too. But really, why will you drain the differential?

I have a high volume cover which holds more gear oil ,its new,I thought I better drain so I would not loose fluid.Any way I drained it and pulled spline,Ill get back into the hub this weekend.Thats what I thought that maybe the race didnt seat, everything is new, small leak coming out of rear seal, back to square D.Thankyou for response.
