Wind Leak Fixed
I have bee fighting a wind leak on my drivers door for a couple of months now. I have tried the silicone tubing in the door seal. All that did was make the door hard to close. I took that out and then had the body shop adjust the door a bit at the top. That still didn't fix it.
I was heading back up to the cabin on New Years Eve after having to come back and work and stuck my finger in the corner of the window where it makes a corner right by the mirror and it shut up.
I finally got around to replacing the door run and now it is quiet as a mouse. The part number is: 8C3Z-2521597-A. It ran me about $75 from Tousley Ford.
To replace the run you will need to disassemble your door panel and remove the glass and outside mirror.
Then you can remove 3 bolts and 1 nut and fish the run out of the door.
When installing the new run I had to move the metal bracket on the rubber a bit on the rear of the door.
Re-install everything and enjoy the quiet ride.
There was some foam missing on my run and the new one is in much better shape than the old one. This is is the new run but the location of where my problem was:
That was cheap way to silence the truck.
