hey guys i've been looking around the site for a few months figured i'd finally join. I know its been done and posts about it, but i havent found anything about how just using the bedliner affects insulation or keeps down road noise(since my heat and ac aren't working well right now). thanks for any replies. Peace.
well i don't have carpet in mine its the stock mat and thin piece of insulation. just didnt know how much more noise it would let in. and ya i might have to end up throwing that mat back in afterwards just to cut back that noise huh?
I herculined the bed of mine, basically where the bench sits all the way back...there is a difference in noise level but after probably a week of driving you dont even notice it anymore.
Herculiner I used on the outside of my truck works pretty good. Gator guard is another REALLY good one. It comes in different colors if you are interested. Also, where your exhaust runs it will be pretty warm.
Lizard skin works very well for interior. My favorite is Raptorliner for appearence if it's going to show, and heat does not bother it. I have my header only an inch away from it.
i fully rhinolined the inside of my 68 bronco and love, i thought about it for my 78 but since i use that as a crusier i went with carpet for her. the 68 does not see road very much so im not sure on how it preforms for on road use.
Im using the spray in bedliner from B-pillers back sides and floor it will be covered by carpet and or vinyl before long... it will stop all those little sqeaks and help disipate some of the heat feom the motor and exhaust into bronc
When I did mine I bought 1 quart of Herculiner, it costed I believe about 35$ at the time and used a small 4" roller and a throw away paint brush. Do you edges first with a brush (If you do it this way) then roll it out.
I like the herculiner cause it has the rubber pieces in it and the sheen is a gloss. So it looks good
My entire interior is Herculined. You hear EVERYTHING, especially when its raining. But after you do Longtube headers and crank the AC/DC it all goes away. I will try to find some pics if you want.
