vans pushin 270k so most things are worn or wearing out
my dome light stays on when plugged in. (i keep it unplugged cuz of this)
is there a way to see what push button thingy in the doors is causing it?
rear door push button thingy is disconnected( looks like the wires fell out), side door is worn pretty bad. both dome lights have 12.80 volts
if possible id like to disconnect all doors and just use the head light switch to turn the dome lights on and off. so i can replace the dome lights with led strips.
Your van is a late enough model, I believe it might be like the other Fords and it has the door switches made into the latches. The normal fix is to drown the latch with wd40, and most of the time this fixes the problem. If you just want to get rid of the switches, find the black/lightblue wire coming from each door, and cut it. Make sure to insulate the wire ends, they will have voltage on them from the courtesy circuit when the door is opened and or when the domelight is lit.
