I just started noticing that my brake pedal is getting harder to push when i am at low speeds or almost stopped. It is like it looses the power booster... when i am driving it is fine but when i get to low speeds this is when i notice it.Any help with this would be appreciated thanks
Yeah, it definitely sounds like a weak vacuum booster, although normally, a gas engine produces more vacuum when the throttle is closed than open. Is this a diesel? If so, I'd be looking at the vacuum pump.
Yeah, the vacuum pump is the most likely culprit. Another symptom of a weak vacuum pump is that the heater will go to defrost regardless of the setting. It takes vacuum to move it off of defrost, and a lack of vacuum will return it to defrost...
