I think he is talking about the clutch interlock that is either on the white plastic rack attached to the pedal (like my '87) or at the firewall, mounted to the master cylinder (for ones that have the plastic pushrod)
If like my '87 you only need to jumper the two wires.
Later ones have 5 wires but only need the two light blue & red wires jumpered IIRC
If you think its a problem with the clutch safety switch that keeps it from cranking without pushing in the clutch, look above the gas pedal, there is a connecter with at least 2 wires on it. The 2 that are red with a blue stripe are the ones you need to jump to bypass that switch, just be careful because it can crank with the truck in gear and the clutch engaged.
You'd have to run a wire to a pushbutton in the cab from the solenoid. I'd think that would be harder than jumping the clutch switch. I think the red/blue wire that goes to the clutch switch is accessible at a connector on the drivers inner fender, under the master cyl. Not 100% sure but I think you can bypass it there.
Perhaps you have some mechanically inclined neighbor or younger friend who could accomplish this for you in ten minutes or less with a simple butt crimp connector?

Nevermind on the under hood wire, I was thinking about the nuetral safety switch on an auto trans.
