I finally got the truck on the road for first time..but it didnt do well it rattled real bad and didnt seem to want to go through the gears all the way but shifted fine, now mind you that i converted from a I6 to a V8 so what do you guys think anyone ever experienced this?
Haha yes but i forgot to mention it vibrates the same in neutral too and i dont see the clutch plate being that problem
Not the clutch plate. The flywheel/flexplate! First is it an automatic or a manual transmission?
If you used the 6 cylinder flywheel/flexplate on a V8 it's going to vibrate! The 240/300 inline 6's are internally balanced. That means the balancers and flywheels are zero imbalance. They are neutrally balanced, no offest counter weight. The V8's are externally balanced. The small block are either 28oz. imabalance or 50oz. imbalance. depending on the age of and size of the engine.
So if you are running a 300 flywheel on a v8 the V8 is out of balance. You will need to get the correct weighted flywheel for your engine!
the new flywheel i bought is gonna require some machine work along the lines six bolt hole circles to match my flywheel so my question is will these holes be enough to make it rattle or inefficent
