No offense Mr Moderator, but show me in the "famous thread" where in those 10,000 replies anybody used logics and economy?
I remember Krewat talking 100 times about diesel smell.
I'm not going to sift through 10,000+ posts but I'll take your word for it. Unfortunately, it's no different than the majority of the threads here. Everything seems to be a measuring contest.
My intent wasn't to start a diesel vs gas war. I was courious about the difference between my truck and a comparible diesel truck. I based this on my driving habits and the milage I put on my truck. I do see the diffrence if I was using my truck to haul loads and putting more miles on. I probably only put 3500 miles on my truck last year. I also tow a 28' 7000#
camper a couple of times a year, but I still wouldn't trade my truck off, just not cost effective for me. With what Kajtek1 has said I can see the benifets of a diesel for making a living. Also the comment of being able to travel farther and not having to fuel up more is a good point.
Hopefully we can just end this thread, and go have a cold one. Thanks.

Here Here!
It's really pretty simple, if you tow heavy over a lot of miles (like Kajtek) then a diesel makes perfect sense and that's where they shine. If you don't, well then a gasser becomes much more competitive. Can't we all just get along?
Well, there really doesn't need to be any debate anyway. I mean really, the only people we need to justify our trucks to is ourselves, right? Not a single person on here has to justify why they bought what they bought to anyone. All of us buy our trucks for our own reasons. It can range anywhere from being a daily driver to hauling heavy equipment to plowing snow.
Point is, as long as we're happy with the truck we have, why battle over such trivial things? We're the ones who have to be happy with what we buy and drive. I personally don't care if anyone likes or agrees with my choice of vehicle. It's mine, I bought it, I insure it, I take care of it, and it does exactly what I need it to. The day that changes, I'll get something different.
Oh yeah, and this is a good thread. We just need to keep the responses in perspective.

Didn't I already say the V10 makes perfect garage queen?

1. I don't consider $800 in average PS owner pocket year after year a trivial thing. Make it $5000 year after year in my personal pocket.
2. I see big difference between happiness based on educated choice and "being happy because I have no other choice"
I did some bad vehicles choices in my life, but usually I sold them pretty fast. I buy cheap and I sell cheap, so it is easy for me.
Would I want to start a war, I would go back to the smell issue that Krewat was always making main argument in his vehicle choice. On my last trip I used about 450 gallons of diesel and 8 gallons of gasoline for my generator (I slept in the truck at -25F). The only smell that did bother me was the time when filling up generator I had gas spill on my gloves. That did bother me for 3 days before it went away.

Now coming back to the smell issue that Krewat was always making main argument in his vehicle choice. Okay. Back to my question. Why does anyone on here need to justify their choice of vehicle to you or anyone else?
No one comes here to offer you an explanation of why they bought their vehicle and no one has to justify anything to you. You have a habit of coming in here and bashing anyone who owns a gas vehicle and doesn't agree with you and your opinions that diesels are the only vehicles that make sense.
Oh and I'm not undermining my job purpose. This isn't my job. It's a volunteer thing. You couldn't begin to handle my day job.
Just messing with you.
I guess my point is that none of should have to justify our purchases to anyone. While others may not agree with our choices, they are just that.....our choices. After all, if there wasn't a market for gas AND diesel engines, no one would buy both and the manufacturers wouldn't make and sell both.
Get a F250
I always see people that think they. CAn tow anything with a f150. crashed or dead because they are pulling anything bigger than Than a pop up tent trailer with their truck. Don't be one of those people
