Lifetime warranty only applies to Colts built after 1997. A Python has to go back to the Colt Custom shop for repairs. = $$$$. They wanted $327 to replace and fit a hammer on one of my Colts. That didn't include shipping.
Yes, that's why I titled it "OT", which means off topic, because it's not about Excursions.
I don't see any smilies in your post, so I'm not sure if you're crackin wise, or serious. On the off-chance you're serious, I'll answer your post in the same vein.
I don't go to the GNAC forum. Until I became a mod, I can remember being at that forum maybe 3 or 4 times, so I don't know the members who populate that forum. Honestly, until I became a Mod this past December, I was not familiar with the acronym GNAC.
I know you guys. I wanted my fellow Ex owners to chime in if they could help.
As for off topic threads, as long as they're not rampant and getting posted everyday, once in awhile they're ok.
We don't have them very often here, but in the 7.3L PSD forum, they come up a little more frequently, and I thought about placing a thread there too, because I know The Brotherhood (see the link in my sig), but I wanted to see if my fellow Ex owners could help out first.
Hope that explains it in a satisfactory manner for you.

Now that everyone knows that they are allowed then that is good to know. I know that on the 7.3L, 6.0L and various other forums they were very particular or should I say strict about posting Off Topic threads. Now that everyone knows that it is ok amongst X family then lead on.

As far as FTE rules are concerned, they are no more strict, or less strict, than any other forum on FTE.
As long as they don't get out of hand, are infrequent, and aren't posted for general conversation purpose (ie, the OP is looking for specific help or info), then an OT thread will quickly go away once the info or help has been given.
