The Sears Plat2 is reported to be the same as the Odyssey...just rebadged as a Sears and less money!

Depending on the market near you, I'd go with the Duralast Gold's from Autozone. The only problems I had with their batteries were my fault due to poor/loose connections. Since resolving those issues, I haven't had a problem.

Been running them since 2007...

My big problem is that i bought 2 of the Diehard "truck" batteries, one went bad a year ago, and they replaced it with a "gold". Now the other "truck" battery is going bad. I wish sears would replace them as a pair. So I was just looking at the options. Wish there was a way to kill a battery that they could not detect and get both replaced.

Never replace just one. It's a recipe for disaster. They generally fail around the same life span and a bad will drag a good down quickly.

I just bought 2 brand new Die Hard Gold's from Sears......I was concerned about this exact issue, and spoke to the manager there. He said that they do not test the batteries, so if one fails to just bring them both in, and they will replace both.

I hope he's right

The 5 years I've been using them, Autozone has been good about replacing BOTH batteries and not just the one that shows bad.

The ones in my area are good about that....

If Sears does that for you, you should buy your lotto tickets that day. AZ has replaced both of mine when one was bad. That's a fact not a promise.
