Drove it home and it ran great. tried to start it the next day nothing
I thought it was just too cold (for you southerners it is cold in PA) I replaced the GPR and Block heater plug. Then found the batteries were weak, replaced them.
Now it just cranks faster but still nothing. It is definitely warm enough. I can feel heat coming of the block.
Next would be to check the fuel pressure. On the driver side if the fuel bowl you will see what looks like the end of a valve stem use a stick style tire gauge and check the fuel pressure while someone is cranking the truck you need a min. of 20 psi to run
this happened to me when i bought mine the guy i bought if from just got done doing a oil change when i came to buy it and he didnt put enough oil in it. there is a sensor in the oil pan that when your oil gets to low it wont allow it to run. so check your oil may not be the problem but its worth checking.
I KNOW it will not run if its low on oil, ask me know I know. The computer will shut it down if it see's no oil presure. Also like Jeffrey says, so sensor, no run. No HPOP oil, no run.
I don't have a stick style pressure gauge (mine are all round) I will get one tomorrow. I cant really tell if there is white smoke (there is snow on the ground) I will check that also and post tomorrow.
I would also say check the oil first. Easy to do. MY F250 died a week after I got it and wouldn't start. Turns out the last one to change the oil didn't put enough in. After adding oil it started right up.
Did you check the maxi fuse und the hood? I think it is 22 that runs the idm.. It is also on the same circuit as the fuel bowl heater.. It often goes out in cold whether.
