Removing Speedo Needle

Removing Speedo Needle
Hi Yall...
I posted a while back about aftermarket gauges in a '96 F-150, but think I'm going to go another route...I've found a way to make my own gauge faces (similar to white-face, but different)..
All I need to know is, how the heck do the needles come off of the gauges? I tried pulling but don't want to pull too hard.
Or perhaps I do just need to pull harder..
Anyway, all with white-face gauges should know how to do this...
Thanks in advance.

Removing Speedo Needle
When you pull the needle, pull it so that the tip of the needle is pointing to a specific spot. Like pull the needle on the tach when it's at 0 RPM. That way it's easier to line it back up. I did that and I screwed up the reading on the tach till I got it straight. Don't put it back on too hard because then the needle won't spin at all. I started my engine and it went to 1000 rpm and I'd rev the engine and it would get stuck at 2K RPM.
