x-liners an runningboards ????
Any info on this would be greatfully appreciated!!! If ya send me a message let me know its about this so I dont deleat it as junk mail!!!
I want to change the runningboars on my 97' F-250 Heavy Duty xlt/4-wd/standard cab/old style body. The ones on there now are DZ Dimond plated. They look good an Im a sucker for the crome but, there older style an they give the truck a bit of a grandpa drag an they make the truck look like it sits down more! I dont really need to jump to a 6 in or anything it sits pretty high now just the boards pull it down. I want to get the rounded pip ones with the black grip spot but, theres so many to choose from an finishes! I dont really wanna have to drill- someone told me I may have to have the floorboard pulled up to get some to bolt on to the frame right an drill. Besides this Im still undeciede on finishes (deffently dont want black!) Its between the crome an the stainless steel an the crome finished stainless steal? I take care of my truck- even in the winter - I want something to resonably last! Ok- besides finishes-brands? Westin- Smitybuilt- or is there another reasonibly priced but good! I got quots on theese two around $339(Westin) an $345(Smitybuilt) an I was told they may require pulling up the floorboard an drilling in the frame?????? Any suggestions would be helpfull!!!
OK- Next! I was also thinking (when I get the mola$$) about the X- bedliners (the spray on ones). Does anyone have a first hand experience with this?????? Are they really as good as they say?????? I have a goosneck hookup in the bed of my truck, its the one with the steal plate around it an the ball can be pulled up from underneath. Would this be a problem- can they spray around it an stuff? Also out of curisoty, could I fit in a pair of cattle racks with that type of liner- I know I cant with the plastic beliner!
Thanks for the help!!!!!!!!! Looking foward to the advise!!!!!!
To make a long story short I chose the Speedliner, one-it is a cold spray. 2- it has a kevlar base included, 3- it has a lifetime guarntee. If you do tear it, it can be repaired very easily.
To date I have not torn or even damaged any of them. I just hauled a load of brick and block in the little Ranger and it was dragged out. If anything would have made a mess this would have been it. I washed it afterwards and it looks like new.
Just my take, others may have a diffrent opinion but you know how that goes.
