what are some possible performance upgrades i could do to my engine. It's a straight six, automatic, with 225K miles on it.

I wouldn't do anything until it was rebuilt. Adding performance mods to a 225k engine without a rebuild and you are asking for problems.

 

Cut the exhaust off right after the 02 sensor bridge, and do a nice dual into single 3" exhaust, no cats.

Advance the timing 2-4 degrees. Other than that I don't know on the six banger!

 

Doing anything that will net performance gains on a foundation that is weak would be foolish. The inline 6 is limited in the amount of performance accessories available. If you really want to increase, and since your motor has 225k, you may want to consider a small block.
