my dad just put a junkyard motor in his 95 f150 4x4 auto and after having it put in and driving it home he noticed he was having oil pressure problems. it as nothing at idle put when he gives it gas it goes up to normal. it reacts almost like a tachometer does.
whats that a sign of? oil pressure sending unit? theirs a check engine light but i havent had time to check it out yet.

On your truck the OP gauge is actually an idiot light dressed up as a gauge. It's either on or off. Since by design the threshold for "on" is near what a healthy idle OP would be, if the sensor is out of range by, say, 1% it would read "0" even though actual OP is 99% of what it should be.
So you may in fact have somewhat low OP, but chances are it's just a bad sensor or gauge. Hook up a test gauge and find out if you need a $20 sensor or a $400 rebuild.
My truck has been driven with the gauge at "0" for 75,000 miles and the bearings are fine. I'm just too lazy to replace the sensor.
