Most times I press down on the clutch I hear a squeak first thing. After driving a while it seems to go away. I climbed under the truck yesterday and located the linkage unless it's called something else. There is a black boot there as well. I just want to get this right as far as lubing it goes.
Also, when truck is cold I notice a shutter when getting into gear. Again, when the truck warms up a bit the shudder goes away. I was told that the clutch was replaced at 130,000 miles and I now have 180,000 miles on the clock.
You were probably looking at the fork, which is pushed by the hydraulic slave pushrod. Don't try to lube it there. If the squeak is coming from the fork, it's from inside the tranny, where the throwout bearing is. But the squeak is probably coming from the cab, from the pedal assembly.
When the clutch was done, did they replace the dual-mass flywheel with a single-mass?
