Thanks, Steve! Love the word "Vanners" as well!

Love the avatar BTW!

I guess the only credentials I have are being here on FTE for over 8 years and being a certifiable geek. I know most about the trucks, specifically the 6.4L and 6.7L diesel engines, as well as a fair amount on the modular V8s.

I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone in here, it seems to be a different group than I've run into on the rest of the site!

And also...

I'm hoping to set up a tech folder for this forum. For an example of what I'm talking about look HERE. This will be a closed thread stuck to the top of the forum with common and "how-to" information for these vans. It could be really great, but I need the information first. I'm going to do some looking, but if anyone has any particular threads, articles, or information to nominate please post it here!

Well a big howdy to you Sir!

Nice to meet ya!

LOVE your avatar pic made me laugh! LOL

You sure are gonna learn alot about the vans here. May take abit though, as it is a rather slow forum compared to some others, especially the diesel forums you've been hanging around.

I guess it's because these vans don't break down as much as those 6.4's eh?

Nice meeting you!

Welcome & good luck Crazy001. You've made positive impacts even before being introduced here.

Hope you can overcome being "Currently Truckless". Sorry but even a "Mustang GT premium" doesn't carry much weight around here. Pun intended.

Have owned the 3 flavors of Econoline since mid-70's & put over half a million miles in them. Also bought my 1st FN around that time. You'll find many "Vanners" here have experience that dwarfs mine.

Setting up a "tech folder" could be very useful. Might make it easier to find things. Get the impression many are disappointed using Search function.

Well that's certainly a left handed compliment huh?

I too was a bit worried an F-Series guy moderating us but we'll see how that goes!! I'm sure your presence will have nothing but good effects here---its already noticeable in fact.

The idea of a tech folder would be nice as I've seen those in the other forums.

Welcome sir!!

Hah...that's possible I guess. But I'm willing to bet that when the vans break they are MUCH cheaper to fix as well. I loved my 6.4L truck, but I don't think I'd own one out of warranty!

Really doesn't carry much weight around here to be honest. We are FINALLY seeing some snow this morning and I have to drive 40 miles to work in about 15 minutes.

That's great, most of my experience has been in different F-series pickups. I've had an '03 F150, and '05 Mustang, '07 F150, '08 F250, '11 F350, and now another Mustang!

I really don't like the search function! That's really my biggest motivator for that...

Tom,

Welcome! Nice group of folks here who have helped me with vans and ford products. Tech folders would be a great addition, sometimes too hard to search on this forum. You'll find two seperate groups here, work truck folks who depend on their vans for $$$'s, and the leisure crowd that vacations and/or tow. Welcome and thanks for supporting us. Mike

Another moderator!

Hey everyone,

I'd also like to announce to everyone that John(Powerstroke72) will be joining us as another moderator for the E-series forum. He spent some time with the E-series in the past and is looking forward to getting involved!

Hey Tom:
Welcome as moderator and thanks in advance for your involvement.

I go back to having owned a 1973 Flatnose E200 conversion a *few* years ago, then had a couple GMC vans, but have been driving my 2002 E150 (mild conversion) since I bought it new early in 2003. I also owned a '78 F100 for 8 years, ordered that one new with the 300 inch six, so I'm a longtime Ford van and truck guy.

Again, thanks in advance for your help; nice folks here on the van forum for the most part.

George

Thanks for the intro Tom.

I know Rob asked for credentials on Tom when he was first announced so I'll throw mine out there.

My very first vehicle was a 1977 E-150 and I got it as a new driver in high school in 1984. It was ordered and bought by my dad back in the day. As soon as he bought it, he started shopping around at customizing shops and within about three months, it had the requisite **** carpet in the back, curtains on all of the windows, a sofabed, icebox / cooler, TV, shoreline power, swivel seats, and the rest of the mandatory "van craze" equipment.

I drove that thing throughout high school and after I graduated for several years until I got a small car that was a little cheaper on the wallet than the E-150 and its dual tanks. After that, I ran volunteer rescue for about 12 years in Ford E-350 ambulances. Our early ones had 460s in them and then they went all diesel.

Needless to say, I've been around my share of E-Series vans for many years. I've always liked them and always enjoyed driving and talking about them.

I'm glad to be here and am offering up any help I can provide to Tom and all of you folks.
