Other Rides

All,

I did a search for "other rides" and didn't find it. If it exists under another title, (administrators) feel free to remove this thread.

Just wanted to share my recent experience...got rid of my last Chevy for another Ford - a 2012 5.0 Mustang GT.

Went from this:

To this:

This new 5.0 GT is INCREDIBLE! I've owned a LOT of Mustangs, and gotta say this one is the TIGHTEST of the bunch, and the power (412 hp) is AWESOME! And if not for the deep discount, I wouldn't have been able to swing it - the sticker was $31,700...I got it for $25,252

This will be my last trade, as I'm out of Chevy's to get rid of - I traded my '03 Z06 for my '08 Shelby and now my Avalanche for this GT, so I guess I'm done. Dang...wish I had one more so I could trade it for a new Boss 302!

I really want a new Boss! That is a sharp looking GT.

Heres a few pics of my rides.

I just sold this little truck. It was a fun project, full air-ride suspension, massive sound system, TVs....Money pit

Here is the old 78 I fixed up and traded for my Bronco. I miss it, but it was huge.

And Finally, Here is my Mustang. Its my daily driver.

Thanks Bud!

It has a Saleen grille, a Cervini's hood, FRPP Spoiler, 1995 Cobra R style wheels 18x9/10 w Goodyear Eagle All Seasons. Cant remember where the louvers are from, but they came painted to match (~140) It also has a Shelby rear valance (can't see it pic unfortunately)

Those are nice Brett too bad the 78 is gone... As for me i have had 3 vehicles in my life. An 82 Mustang GL, which i gifted to my step brother so him and his wife could have a vehicle and it doubled as a wedding gift. Next was my 88 ranger XLT 2wd 5spd, i still own it but my brother is driving it cause he sold his 79 bronco ans has nothing to drive. And finally my DD and my new project my 78 bronco which happens to be my first V8 and my first big vehicle. It was definitely a big change from the ranger to this but i got used to it pretty fast. I learned how to drive in a 94 Chevy conversion van so i feel like i can drive anything .

Here is my mustang, cost my parents $200 as a 16th birthday present. As for the specs, 200 straight six, 3spd c4 trans, power locks crank windows, rear defrost, since it was a GL it had all the trim and came with the "premium" sound system which consisted of an 8-track/AM/FM radio with a tiny amp and a switch for said amp. 2 speakers up front and 2 in the back, and i had a kind of leather cloth seat. IT was an ok car but it had squirrels in it for 4+ years so it smelled funny and was very dirty when i got it. It had newer brakes and newer tires on it when i got it so it wasn't a raw deal. There was a ton of rust though.
Next my 88 ranger:

This was my second vehicle and the first one i ever bought on my own. It was an XLT so it had the trim and radio stuff, cassette/AM/FM, And speakers in the dash and behind the seats. Was a 2.9 sixer with a 5spd manual, 2wd and was used as a farm truck so it had a ladder rack, I bought it for $800 and didn't need to do a whole lot but right off the bat i had replaced the dizzy because it would run till it got hot then if you let off the gas to, say, down shift from coming off the freeway it would die. so we thought it was the Stator module or the Ignition Coil on the dizzy, we had a friend who is a tech at a ford dealership tell us those go out a lot. So we replaced the whole thing and that didn't fix it. On a test run my step-dad noticed the passenger carpet was soaked and it was hot water, so he looked behind the carpet and the heater core was leaking right onto the inertia switch which was shorting it out and killing the fuel pump. So we bypassed the switch and replaced the heater core and it has worked ever since.
And finally my bronco:

bought for 2k and right off the bad invested almost 200 into getting the title and everything. Then had to replace a bunch of things to keep it running after me and my brother tried tuning the carb. Didn't have anything to do with the carb though it was the coil wires being chopped up from the PO. I have done a lot to it so far and plan to do a lot more in the future when i have more money and another vehicle to drive.

Thanks 78Explorer. No reson to be jealous, you got a danged zebra to ride Although i do like my truck a lot. It is really making me want to restor it more and more.
78Explorer So i heard you like mustangs:
Moms 04 40th anniversary Mach1 comp orange stripe all the way back, louvers all stock save for the wheels and tires and muffler.

427 Roush we had at my work for a short while. As soon as we bought it someone was wanting to buy it. I got to drive it and had to wash it.

Our Billit stang we had on the used lot for a little while, was also fun to drive.

The V6 2011 we had. Not very special but it was the first 2011 i had ever driven let alone been in period. Automatic

My moms 91 GT triple black vert, she loved this car with all her heart but sadly we had to sell it to help pay bills when we were in a tight spot.

And finally my moms Mach1 again next to my step dads 03 Mach1, his is not stock but i am not sure on what all has been done to it, doesn't have the stripe all the way back and it originally had the louver but he gave it too my mom. They both have short throw shifters on them and he has something like 4.27 gears or something like that. They are both very fun to drive and the orange one is mostly the show car.

LOVE the Mustangs!!! They're all VERY sharp, though I do have a fondness for the Mach's and the Bullitt, in particular.

I love Mach 1's. The Bullitt is nice too. I would have loved to drive that 427 Roush.
