Well mine isn't a V10, but you might still find the information useful:
Procomp 8" stage 1 lift with MX6 adjustable shocks
37x13.50-20 Toyo Open Country MT tires
Stock gears (don't remember what they are)
~14 miles per gallon - mostly city driving
Original drive shafts
wondering who out there has a V10 with a 8-12 lift??
what size lift and maker?
what gears are you running?
what size tires?
what kinda MPG's?
did you have to get new drive shafts made?
oh and most importantly pics!!!!!!
Are you thinking about doing this? You seem to make mention (a lot) of how bad your mpg's are and this would make it even worse!! I don't care what you do but I know this has popped up from time to time for you.

i used to worry about the MPG's alot more but i asking about MPG's because ifs it gonna be like a 40-50% cut in MPG's then thats dumb to do u know. not going to do something that isnt cost efficent

Gotcha.....is a huge lift, huge tires, new gears, new driveshafts, etc..... "cost efficient"
8-12inch lift would be awful for a daily driver. Youd be spending a butt load for that big of a lift, some money for new gears, wheels, and the bigger the tire the more expensive. Not to mention more money on gas.
So basically youd be spending a **** load of money to make your truck look badass. And to keep spending more money because youd be buying gas everyday.
But thats my logical side talking...
My normal side says ****in do it man!
Gas mileage worries are for the people who'd rather study the mud and protect it from harms way, not shred through it with some loud *** exhaust screamin with a bunch of bikini girls in the back

lol i know it's gonna be soo expensive but looks sooo bad *** hahaha.
I think a truck with an 8" lift makes a great daily driver, as long as you use quality lift parts, especially the shocks, a quality wheel and tire combination, and gear it accordingly. I drove my 6.0 (and my 7.3 truck for that matter) with
8" lifts as DD's, with no issues whatsoever.
The gassers need gear to retain any semblance of fuel mileage. With 37's or 38's the V-10 trucks need 4.56's or 4.88's, depending on if/what you tow. My brother had a V-10 I lifted 8" on 38's and geared (4.56's) and he would consistently get 10.4-10.9 mpg at 65 MPH light (not towing).
FWIW the V-10 trucks sit fairly close to the same height as a comparable year 6.0 truck with the same leaf set.

Right on good to know. Isn't yours a diesel with a 8-10 on it??

Any pics of your bros old V10
The blue one is a 6.0 with 8" Deaver springs. I have a grey '02 with a 7.3 that is virtually the same, lift, tires, gears, etc; although not quite as impeccable. May be able to find some old pics and scan them, he sold it several years ago.
Some friends of mine out in AZ had this done on their truck. Custom 12" lift on 38x15.50x20 Toyo M/T's.. It's a diesel, but the mpg's dropped, which is a given. With your truck (leaf spring), you'll need alot of extra work going to anything over a 6.5-7" lift (longer brake/vacuum lines, ext front driveshaft, crossover steering, etc). I looked into an 8" when I had my 2000, and to do it right, it's expensive, so I went the cheap route and stuck a 6.5" on there with 37" Toyo's. My mpg's (V10) dropped from stock to that combo from 13mpg's to 8. There's nothing cost effective about it...
Unless you are wanting the high lift look, you could install Bushwacker "cut-out" fender flares on your Super Duty. With the 4" lift kit you already have installed, you could run 38" tires with no problems.

Thanks a lot for all the info!! That truck is clean!!!
ROFLMFAO ... there is nothing efficient about the "monster" lift you desire...only way to not take it in the rear( at least not as hard ) is to buy a truck with all that stuff already done to it...but you'll still pay at the pump and them tires uh yeah ...but I get u man I like how they look also even though the best thing they do is posing for pics just like u homies ol truck
