Need your help, I bought a set of axles from a 1976 F250 4x4... They were totally stripped of their brakes so I didn't have much to work with... The front is fully restored and the rear I only have the brakes to finish up...
These are 12x2.5" drum brakes on a Dana 60 rear and I have everything except the cylinder to shoe link pins... (they go into each end of the wheel cylinder and push on the shoes when the brakes are applied)
From what I gather on the Web lookin at pictures it seems these should be the "nail head" type of pins
Part #'s anyone?? Napa had only one (#80460, iirc) but wasn't sure if it would fit, it seems they have different lengths?
First of all, I know this is an OLD thread, but after much research, it is one of the few reference sites that I could find that mentions the drum brake wheel cylinder push pins, push rods, links, or whatever they're called - aka Ford #C6TZ-2042-H. I found them recently as part number H1421-2 at O'Reilly Auto Part's, Rock Auto, as well as Amazon and eBay but I'm not including those last two's web-links since some of the comments from purchasers on Amazon seem to have quantity discrepancies and/or the sites I found on them there seem to be priced sorta high compared to the O'Reilly's and Rock Auto prices. There are of course other sellers out there for H1421-2 so whichever you prefer ...
Also I have compared and confirmed the H1421-2's sizing to be the same as OE C6TZ-2042-H for these too, and they come 2 to a box.
Who would ever know to call the part a "Link" in their internet searches. right.
This information should somehow be referenced in the Tech Section.
I know I spend hours searching the net, and if we knew the proper term to use in our search sure shortens the search-grief.
OldTrucksAreBetter what a way to dig up some good info, thank you for posting it. I will get it copied and pasted over to a info storage place where it might be seen a little more often, instead of getting lost in the thread scuffle.
