Ordered Lowering Beams, Rear Kit! (Missing pieces?)

I just wanted to post this up, and get a quick opinion. I ordered the complete AIM lowering kit. Beams up front, and shackle kit in the rear. (Exact same set up as William William) So, everything arrived this afternoon. The boxes were in great shape form shipping, but it did not include a Packing list. So, I was more paranoid than anything. Maybe I am missing them, or maybe I dont know what the hell a tie rod relocator is, but I think they're missing. Can anyone identify the relocators in the pic? Im assuming the kingpins, are the 4-5 inch rods, in the box. But, am somewhat worried about the tie rod relocator pieces. Any help?

They are the "C" shaped pieces in the center of the picture. Lots have been used. The only complaint I have ever heard of is the centerline of the hole was off slightly from the tierod to the spindle. Also heard those are prefered because of the extra bolt thru the spindle instead of the djm style that only relies on the single stud.

I would have to agree; the DJM beams look alot nicer. But that does not mean the AIM stuff will fail or be insufficient. The DJM beam is boxed and seems like it is better built. Is the AIM stuff painted or powder coated? Both the DJM and the AIM kits lower the truck the same so I am not sure why one would choose one over the other; other than price? I will say I like the AIM tie rod re-locator better though.

Seems like there was a thread about some of these aftermarket beams not fitting correctly? Not sure if it was DJM or AIM with the issues?

Yes, I did a ton of research before I ordered. I went back and forth between AIM and DJM. In the end, I went with AIM. There wasn't any difference in total cost, so money had no part in the decision. As far as the appearance.... Every set is made to order. I requested that they be made stripped down in bare metal, as I'm having them powder coated myself. Typically, when you see beams, they've been painted or coated to some extent. But mine, are literally "in the raw." Cost was right around $850 shipped. Both AIM, and DJM, and Summit quoted me from around $930-$975 complete, but I went back and forth, and found free shipping codes, and negotiated the price in that fashion.

There were really three things that sold me on the AIM Kit. First of all, it was all of the pics that William William posted of his truck. I loved the stance, and I like the idea of always being able to return the truck back to 100% stock if I so choose. (without having to c notch the frame) Second was the customer service/ support I received when I called AIM, in comparison to DJM. It was night and day. So, I went with the AIM. And then the overall build quality of the tie rod locators. I had read over and over, how much more solid these pieces are on this kit in comparison. So, I went with it, and won't second guess my decision. I know in Willliam Williams thread there was some question as to the clearance issues between the frame and bump stop in the rear, but I am in the same boat as far as my philosophy on this subject. Once it's finished, I might drive the truck a few hundred miles a year at the most. A car show here or there, and that's it. So, with zero payload, and living in an area with all new construction of roads/ highways, I'm not worried about it.

Overall, I am happy. I am starting the install next week, and will post up results as far as my experience.

How much did you lower your 69?
And HOW did you lower your '69?
And what sizes are your wheels and tires, please?
Thanks.

This is my pasture find.
