EFI 460

I posted this over on the 87+ board but thought maybe someone might know here. I have a question about my motorhome. It is a 95 with the 460 EFI motor. It's been sitting for a couple years and I'm now trying to get it back up and running. My question is, how do I remove the fuel line from the rail? Want to make sure it's getting fuel from the tank but can't get them apart.
Thanks
Keith

Quck Disconnect tools, may be labeled as a/c-fuel line tools. I prefer the plastic slipover type, but some people like the metal scissor folding type, either will work, both will be a PITA. You can also check for fuel at the schrader valve on the rail, that is the fuel pressure test port. Careful, either method can put fuel everywhere you dont want to...

Most do have the test port on the fuel rail somewhere. It looks like a tire valve.

Yes, use the test port (Schrader valve), that's exactly what it's there for. Ideally, put a fuel pressure gauge on it.

Removing those quick-connects can be a PITA, and lots of plastic components are going to be fragile at this point and you risk breaking things and needing to replace them.

Thanks for the replies. Found the schrader valve, no fuel pressure. So guess I now need to find out why the pumps not working. Already pulled and cleaned the relay so guess next step is trace the wiring. Just hope I don't have to drop that 75gal fuel tank because it's almost full.

Do you have an ohm meter?

If so, put the meter on the + and - leads going to the pump; if no continuity, it's burned out.

Yep I got one. Never thought about checking it like that. Now just have to figure out how to get to that bugger under the motor home, sits kinda low.
