Some already know my truck problems but I'll recap. 05 F-250 6.0L. Intermittent missing at idle and jerking/studdering at 45-60 MPH. Bluish smoke has recently started also. Haven't found much even using AE. New development this morning though....
First of all - check engine light came on and SGII says P0672. Have had this code with AE but SGII has never shown it.
Second - about 1/2 mile from work I hear a ding. Look down and 'Check Guages' is shown on my dash and the oil pressure is down to 0. Went away after a couple seconds. It repeated this about 10 times until I shut her down. What is this now? Is it related to my other problems?
I dont think this code is the answer to your problems
The LPO dash and warning lights is what I would be checking into for now The oil pressure gauge on the dash is the LPO 7psi and it shows normal so due to the fact it bounced rapidly might be the sender
When your oil light on dash comes ON or the check gauges light Better be watching IPR and ICP see if those are bouncing around to because it may be causeing your problems
also look at those sensors on the oil cooler housing the ones right under the oil filter ones a temp and ones a oil pressure look to see if the pigtails are oil soak

P0672 = Cyl 2 Glow Plug Circuit; might not be a bad idea to check the plugs on your GPCM that sits on the passenger valve cover. Or the bus bar on the side of the head, #2 would be right below the alternator all the way at the front. Possible the smoke is coming from a cylinder that isn't burning all the fuel. The glow plugs create the heat needed to burn the fuel until the engine is warm enough to create it's own heat from combustion.

The gauge on the dash is an idiot light, it doesn't actually show oil pressure. The sensor it's hooked to is on the back side of the oil cooler housing (below the oil filter). I only takes 7 psi for it to show good. If you had actually lost LPO (Low Pressure Oil)...what feeds the HPOP and all the bearings; the truck would have died since there wouldn't be oil to fire the injectors. Could be a bad connection at the sensor, might have bumped it while trying to check other things.
The intermittent gauge problem is probably the LPO sensor or pigtail. If you didn't really have any LPO the truck would shut down fairly quickly. The P0672 is #2 glowplug faulty circuit or glowplug--check the harness and OHM out the glowplugs on that side. A glowplug fault will set the CEL. The LPO will not since the PCM doesn't see that sensor.

Yes, the one closest to the cab is soaked. Let me know if you want a picture.
Tested with AE again over lunch. During DTC test, C1284 oil pressure switch failure came up. After KOER test, P1703 brake switch out of self test range came up.
So with the oil blown thru the sensor it bad and should be replaced
But the LPO sensor is not causeing your problem it just goes to the gauge on the dash
Sounded like it started cutting out when you get on it Hard
So I would take that AE and get ICP and ICP Desired on the screen and see if you can catch any big diffrence in the 2 when it does start to cut out as you get on it like a sensor or IPR valve is Trippen out as in like a short circuit or something.
It could be happening so fast that it causes a misfire but recovers fast enough so that the moter Doesnt die
Have you checked all the connections you can on the wire harnessses verify there all on tight and not corroded or anything like that
Even run the cylinder balance test and wiggle the injector harness and see if you can catch something as you wiggle it
Sooner or Later You will WIN this could be an electrical issue and they suck
Do I replace the connector also or just the switch? Also, do you know the part number? O-Reilly's had a couple different numbers.
I'd think twice about dealing with O'Reilly's when it comes to PSD parts. The ones around where I live are stocked with arm chair racers. If the computer doesn't say it came with it...it doesn't exist. 1972 Rancheros powered by Clevelands are a good case in point...I could write a two page essay on my issues with O'Rielly's & AutoZone and my project car. I'd really think about dealing with your local Ford dealership if you have to have the part today. One of the site supports at best.
Edit: Since Benny gave you the Navistar you could go by you local International dealership and get it. Only the packaging will be different from the Blue Oval part.

WRONG!!! Cylinder #2 is the cylinder at the very front of the engine on the DRIVER side. The cylinders on the passenger side of the engine are numbered 1, 3, 5 and 7. The driver side are numbered 2, 4, 6 and 8. Disconnect the two halves of the four-wire connector on the driver side of the engine where it is clipped to the front FICM bracket. Ohm out all of the four wires to battery ground with a DVOM (glow plug harness end). All four should have readings between 0.5 to 2.0 ohms. Any higher than that, the glow plug(s) are faulty on that bank. If all check out, either wiring in the main engine harness is faulty, or the GPCM itself is faulty.
