Well I finally got my visor painted but now am getting mixes feelings. I have one on my obs and love the looks but it wasn't fast enough to worry about it ripping off. On the other hand my 6.0 sees over 100 alot on the strip and cruise 75-80 on the highways. its a daily driver.
How strong are these visors?
Thought I was going to be the only person on here with one, about a month after I got my truck (new in 06) I put a Lund Sunvisor on it. I've had one on all my previous trucks. As for strength, my truck has seen 108 mph (SCT tuned) on highway, I've had branches hit it, birds get hit by it and stuck underneath it and its still one piece.

Just curious - do they actually work? Do they justify the cost? Don't get me wrong...I luv um....but they are not cheap after painting.
Ive got them on both my trucks and I hate the one on my white 02 truck.
In the summer its a real bug catcher ,they stick on and are hard to get off.
Automatic car wash wont take them off so even if your trucks not real dirty you have to wash it by hand.
They look great and they do help cut down on sun in the cab but they will tear the crap out of your roof over time. I had one in another pick up that was professionally installed and painted and it did nothing more than leak over time and ended up ruining a head liner. I had it in the body shop on average of once a year to be resealed and tightened up. If you never drive over 55, go off road or if its just a show truck; go for it.
The only way that I think they could be made durable; you would have to drop the headliner and spot weld some heavy gauge steel to the inside of the roof and tie into the cabs main frame and weld some nuts to the inside of that. That way the visor would be attached to some thing solid and not just sheet metal which will crack from vibration(ask me how I know ). This would also let you remove the visor and reseal it if you ever needed to. jm2cw.
Best of luck!
