Mine makes a noise, not sure if I'd call it a rattle. It sounds like static on the TV. But John says it's normal when you put his custom triple disc billet converter behind a 7.3. It's actually a converter from a 5r110 that he custom built for my "Street Performance" (formerly known as "Stage 1") Transmission. It supposedly has something to do with the harmonic differences between the 6.0 and the 7.3 and the lack of dampening springs in his custom build. He also says you wouldn't hear the noise at all if it were installed in a 6.0. It kinda freaked me out at first but when I called and asked him about it he said, "It's perfectly normal, most guys who install that particular build of transmission aren't concerned about a little extra noise if they can hear it at all over their motor." I can't hear it when I'm cruising, only when stopped with the windows down. I trust John and the trans and TC perform flawlessly.

Are you talking about JW? If it is I don't think he got it from John , but I could be wrong.
The builder of the converter said its normal and sometimes they rattle. He said there is no problem with the converter and no side affects or premature wear. I probly could get a new one here but don't know if I want to R&R another Trans especially if he said there is no issue with the converter.
Honestly, I don't think I'd be too comfortable with it unless the builder could somehow show you exactly why its making noise and how it isn't anything to be concerned about. With only a year warranty, he's out of any responsibility pretty quickly.
