fuel leak fixed

I had a small fuel leak on the back side of the engine. After reading this site of all the possible causes i decided to buy all the o-rings needed from dieselOrings.com plus the fuel lines down in the valley.

I tore into the project monday around noon. It took me about 5 hours total to rebuild the fuel bowl, replace the fuel pump, and the 2 o-rings on the fuel lines in the back of the heads.

Hardest part of the project was getting the o-rings out of the fittings and getting those fittings threaded back on.

I might of got lucky with the banjo bolt, it only took me about 10 minutes of trying to get it started before i finally got it.

The FPR screens were pretty nasty, which i suspected would be.

After going through it all, i suspect the leak was from the fuel pump all along.

Next up is GPR and probably glow plugs as this beast bellows white smoke on cold start ups for about a minute or less.

Congrats on the fuel pump!
If I may make a suggestion, if you are going to do the GP's I would also do the injector o-rings at the same time.
Glad your truck is no longer leaking fuel.
See you around!

I didnt think about doing anything to the injectors while i was in there. Makes sense tho. Are there any cheap mods that can be done to the injectors while i had them out?
