I need help again guys, 97 F150, 4.6 liter, 300K+ miles
Had a cold night recently and went to start up, started and ran fine, but brake light and the ABS warning light came on, checked the brake fluid level and it looks like it's up to the line, however, I can't see any fluid when I take the cap off, also, I pulled the brake release just in case I had accidently applied the parking brake, but lights are still on---any suggestions?
Thanx
olcop
double check that brake fluid level, if you cant see it when taking the cap off, fill it up. check all your lines and fittings and components for leaks, if air gets into the A.B.S. unit, it will cause a light. filling that master cyl. reservoir with more DOT 3 fluid should shut that (!)BRAKE light off
Once again guys, you have bailed me out, I filled the reservoir and the lights went out, guess the line I was looking was just a stain in the inside of the reservoir---
Next step is to identify the reason the fluid was low and I'll be doing this to tmorrow, to be safe,
You guys are the greatest, my everlasting thanks to you all!!

How worn are the brakes? That will suck alittle more fluid

I haven't checked them lately, just had the tires rotated and balanced, hope they checked them, but I will check again tomorrow.
Thanks again
