I recently swapped to a C6 in my '85 F150 4x4. The 3.55 8.8 rear axle is close to crapping out, so I'm looking into swapping to a 9". I would like to go to a 3.08 or 3.00 ratio...but what would match that in my front axle? What ratios were offered in the TTB front axles? The worn out TOD manual I swapped from had overdrive so I'm looking for a way to reduce RPMs on the highway as well since I'm turning almost 3k at 65mph...the 300 sounds a little angry at this point

Your front is probably 3.54 iirc from previous posts. A 3.50 would work for the 9er.

Tires are the cheapest way to reduce hiway rpms. What are you running now?

 

I have the axles and front third members available pretty cheap locally...about $200 for both. Right now I'm running 30x9.50's. I could go up to 33's but I would need to do a lift as well...

 

No lift needed for 33's on that body style truck. Been running them on my '86 for several years.
