Are you talking about E85 made right here in the good ol' US of A?
If so, it is made from harvested corn, usually not corn stalks, although some farmers do harvest corn stalks (as in bale it or shred it) as a bedding or a feed.
Other countries have their own recipes.

regardless, to call it "a waste of corn" is just spreading misinformation, or at the very least, expressing an uninformed opinion.
no arguement about the reduction in fuel economy. usually to make it work $/mile, it needs to be about 30% cheaper per gallon.
To call it "a waste of money" is a matter of opinion. One could make that arguement about any american made product, many products made here cost more than something imported.

I'd like to see the percentage of ethanol that is being made from stalks. They are making it out of algae also, but the percentage is so small, you may as well say it's less than 1%. My post was in response to the poster who said "It is normally made from corn stalk, ie. waist." (waste) NORMALLY, it is not.
I'll stick with my original post.
