mark knows way more than me but,I believe the line presure spring is to keep the piston from slaming at the bottom of the bore. even the new replacement in the kits are loose and other transmissions are the same.
Thanks mark. I was hoping that was the problem so i didn`t have to tear down the trany. I guest i have to drop the trny now and continue to dissasembly it. My issue was with 1st gear, feels as if u step on the brake and try to move off. when i put it in drive, it doesnt engage. i have to give it gas to move off. disconnect the solenoid pack, reverse is good, 4th gear move off slowly. any suggestions. magnet had quite a good amount of particle on it. Thanks
This is a three year old post bud, I don't know if any of these guys other than Mark are still around.
I skimmed through and I would try doing a fluid change along with a filter swap. See if that helps. I know a couple fellas who were lucky enough for this to fix their problems.
If not it might be time for a new Torque converter. Don't take my word for stone though.
I'm new to this forum and was hoping someone has some good input as to why my excursion is doing this. Truck shifts fine once it shifts into overdrive it immediately shifts down to 3rd then 2nd if I turn the OD off it shifts back to 3rd and when turned back on it does the same thing if anyone has any idea what is going on it would be greatly appreciated thank you.

Start a NEW THREAD, this is a very old one. Give as much information that you can... Miles, towing, year, fluid smell or dark etc
im at the end stage to put in the pump. My problem is the input shaft wont slide all the way in thru the pump stator. Each end individually slide in but when i insert the whole shaft it stops at one end. Im thinking the bushings are not in strait. Its not the shaft because i brought a new on. This is also my 2nd pump because my 1st one was showing signs of wear.
My front drive shaft broke on f250 7.3 1999 it tore apart transfer case and wiring harness to transmission. I spliced it all together using color matching changed trans pan gasket and filter put all together and now it wont shift out of 2nd i guess it would be. What could be the issue
