I have seen a few supercab F100 trucks that were 1963 & 1966 I am looking for any production info on these trucks. is there a notations somewhere on the VIN or body tag that can authenticate these trucks? I am very curious as they are really cool and REALLY uncommon. I know Ford made some of these in Brazil but the bodies were setup different and most were crew cab unibodies. I'm guessing they were forest service or government related somehow... any info would be great thanks.
If I remember, there is one member on here (although he may be inactive) who purchased a Slick extended cab dually. Although it's very well done, it's still homemade. Ford didn't make any extended cabs (at least, in America) until 1975, although I'm not sure if an aftermarket company built any before then. The first year for true Ford crew cabs was 1965, but a company built aftermarket crews out of Ford trucks for a handful of years before that.
Extended cabs were produced by aftermarket body makers, mainly for use by the US Gov't, RR's, logging and petroleum companies.
Since Ford did not offer a production Super Cab until 1974 .. there will be no code within the VIN or on the Warranty Plate for any extended cab prior to 1974 .. as all were aftermarket.
And the aftermarket conversions have the ID tag as received from the factory, not as delivered to the customer. My coach-house built '64 F100 CrewCab has a factory tag for a basic longbed F100. FWIW an easy way to identify an aftermarket CrewCab is the rear door hinges are visible, the factory ones were hidden.

Do you have a picture that I can reference? also - do you know of any tricks to ID a supercab? I have the opportunity to buy a very nice 64 supercab 4x4. the body work is excellent so I assume that its legit but I want to know what I have. Thanks for the tip

What good would it do for you to see it?
What Jeff64F100CrewCab is calling the "ID tag" and "factory tag" is the Warranty Plate, installed by FoMoCo at final assembly.
So, it won't have any reference to a Super Cab, because all were aftermarket conversions.
Besides, codes within the VIN or listed on Warranty Plates on trucks of this vintage, do not decode as to what type of "back of cab equipment" these trucks came with...if any.
The first three digits of the VIN is the SERIES code. The MODEL code is stamped on the Warranty Plate.
Neither of these codes define a whether a truck is a Styleside Pickup, Flareside Pickup, Cab & Chassis, or if it came with a factory installed Platform (Flatbed) or Platform and Rack (Stakebed).

I was referring to the door hinges he mentioned. I grasp that the ID tag is of no assistance.
I added a few photos of the hinges, stock and custom to my garage. I would love to see photos of the '64 Extended Cab. Is it a cab added with a full rear seat, but without doors (I have seen an early truck in this form), or a half cab added and a smaller seat?
