Too Much Carb???

I have a rebuilt 302, that is pretty much stock except for an Edelbrock Performer intake and Holly 4 brl. carb(i believe it is a 600 cfm).
I just bought a used Holly 750 Double Pumper. Everyone tells me that is way too much carb for my motor. If so what do I need to do to it to handle it. I couldn't help but buy it from a friend who needed some money. I didn't know how much they cost but I thought $75 was a good deal!!
Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks!
David

Too Much Carb???

I'll agree with everyone else that already told you.
A 750 double pumper is wwaaaayyyyyyyyy too much carb for a 302. You could possibly get a vacuum secondary to work as the secondary only opens enough depending on demand but when you force the secondary open, the 302 just doesn't draw enough to get on the main circuit without bogging.
Will it run? Probably yes.
Will it run well? I'd like to see it.
