Being a guitar player (but unmarried) I see the same sort of thing: "can only play one at a time-----why ya gotta own so many?"

The Battle Of The Sexes is still alive it seems!
Several thoughts come to mind -

First of all. . . I love my wife with all my heart.

Second. . . . we've known each other for 37 years.

Next. . . She grew up in a family that had two firearms. An old H&R .38 S&W revolver and a Winchester lever gun in .30-30.

My wife knows that firearms are 'my hobby', and she embraces that, the same that I know that snow skiing is her hobby. (Even though she LOVES shoes!!)

I am also smart enough to know that there are two words that mean more to her, than any other words that I can mutter (other than, "I Love You." They are: "Yes, Dear."

I was attempting to be humorous so please take no offense to my comments. It was obvious there is trust and good communication between you otherwise you'd be single just like me.

I applaud and admire your 37 years together----after all its not by accident its lasted this long!

No problems, here!
None, at all!

I've known my wife for 37 years. It took me 14 years, to get her to marry me!!
I met her, on her first day at work. She was dating a guy, and married him in '75.
The day I met her, I went home, washed my car, got a shower, put on some clothes, ate dinner and went to my girlfriend's house (that I had dated for almost 2 years), and broke up with her!!
(I swear that's the truth!!)

I eventually met and married someone else, and that marriage was BAD.
The ONLY good thing from that marriage is my oldest daughter.
While going through my divorce, I 'bumped into' this woman that I had met, and after a few minutes of 'small-talk' and finding out that she was going through a divorce, I asked her what she was doing on Friday night.

"Having dinner with you!", was her answer!!!
This was in an elevator, in the company headquarters, full of people!!!

We've been together, ever since.

@ JWA... if I had a husband who had that many weapons he could say pretty much anything he wanted to. Just kidding.

@ Keith ... what a nice story. It should be made into a movie or something.

I wonder why the quote thing didn't work like it's supposed to in my last post?

I was thinking about the love story part ... but there are a lot of people who like horror stories and comedy.

I thought I would mention the one time that I regretted open carrying. It was when I went into a grocery store that sold booze and noticed that people were acting as if I was wearing my weapon, so I looked down, and bigger than **** there it was. Suddenly it seemed to grow to the size of a cannon on my hip and I imagined being surrounded by LEO's demanding that I turn it over to them as they hauled me off to jail. I couldn't get out of there fast enough, but I had to do it slowly so as not to draw attention to myself. I have gotten so used to wearing it that I just plain forgot to take it off before going into that store. Needless to say, I doubt I'll ever forget again.

And I've gotta question. I heard that an oozie is a small automatic firearm which uses Gel as ammunition. Is this true? I'd rather use something like this to shoot at stray dogs when they attack my horse while I'm out riding.

Another thought on practice. Buy a snap cap for your gun, and practice trigger control. You will be amazed how just pulling the trigger on a cap a few times a day will improve your shooting. you will also be amazed how much you move the muzzle on let off. When your shooting live ammo, the recoil hides the movement. Doing this forces you to hold the weapon steady as it goes off.
I agree about trigger Control/pull practice. My Beretta was confounding me for some time regardless. I went up in grip pad thickness & everything started falling in to place, including my groupings.

I've been with my wife 30 plus years. She is a great shot with a handgun. I don't fear her shooting me. She would never let me off that easy. LOL

Howard, that was too funny.

Actually, it took me a little while to get used to a hand gun. I was more used to shooting rifles. I had a 12 guage single barrel shot gun when I was house setting. I'll never forget the first time I shot it too. I was expecting it to blow the target apart like I had seen on tv, but all it did was put holes in it. It didn't kick me on my butt either. I didn't know whether to be disappointed or relieved.

I've shot several other types of rifles too, like a 22, an M4 or M14 and several other biggies that, though they were very impressive, I can't remember the names of them.

Michelle,

IF you were to get a rifle/carbine for longer range(s) shooting/defense, I'd suggest what everyone commonly calls an "M4gery" (M4 clone).

5.56x45mm NATO/.223 Remington.
Fairly lightweight. Fairly compact. Good accuracy to 300+ yards!
Easy to use/manipulate.

Another suggestion would be a Marlin (pre-2009) or Winchester levergun in .357 Magnum.
10+ shots. Good accuracy out to 150+ yards.

Thanks Keith. I'll have to look into those. I've been thinking about expanding my collection of one.
