The truck was prob a special order and the customer never took delivery. He prob had no business ordering such a truck and was trying to save anywhere he could so he didn't want the additional expense.
That was my exact issue! How did you know that I wanted the lariat but had to skimp on the heated seats AND the sunroof? Just a FYI, I could buy this truck in whatever trim I want.
If that is not good enough for your far fetched idea... reasons.
1.I use seat covers so the AC would be useless. The heat on the seats is no good for me. I like a cold seat no matter what.
2. The reason I did not buy a sunroof is because of additional headroom. Being 6'2 and wearing a hard hat, I hope you understand my logic?
On topic, I looked into heated seats for a company truck that would be with OEM parts and lets just say it was past $2000.00.

I have a set (both fronts) on order for my F150. Local audio shop, who also does upholstery, is doing the install. Both seats share a "brain" and the dual switch is one module.
Parts + labor is running me $400 total for both seats. $225 for just one.
Ask any new car dealer where they send their auto's-trucks to have heated seats installed. Call the shop and ask for the price. Then decide. Did it that way with a 2008 F-350 and it was a great job for a fair price.
I had my 2012 for 2 weeks before I tore the seats out and installed the heated seat kits. The whole install took about 3 hours. It took longer because I used the upfitter switches rather than the supplied toggles. The seat come apart easier than you would think, just be mindful of the airbags.
My seats don't have them either, not that big of a deal in El Paso but I move to Fort Riley, KS in a couple of weeks and I know that I will miss not having them there.
I had heated seats installed last week at a local car accessory shop, they did a great job, my wife loves them! Cost $350 installed in both front seats.
As an alternative, Wet Okole makes some very nice, tailored seat covers that can be heated. They have the added advantage of protecting the factory crack-prone leather (the sun kills the leather out here) and the neoprene feels more comfortable to me as it gives a little bit of additional cushioning, especially when the leather is cold and stiff, and it is cooler in the hot months.
For those wondering how hard it is to install the heated seat kits. I did this with my buddy on his 06' f150 and it took less then 2 hours from start to finish. I don't know how people are charging 400 and getting away with it. The kit which covers both front seats cost us $40 plus shipping, I'll try and find the link in a little bit. The kit we used has two settings, low and high.
Damn I'm glad I found this thread...I bought my truck from dealer stock this past Sept. Being in Mississippi it doesn't have the heated seats. When I checked with my dealer they quoted me close to $2500.00 for all the Ford components, labor and programing the MFT. Looks like a DIY project...
