Hi, my 99 SD has manual windows, where on passenger side the crank close the window facing down. That interfere with my tool box and too many times I noticed the window is not fully closed during car washing
So I want to move the crank to up position. Pulled the cover and there is hole with a fastener in it. Can't see it well, but looks like hex head.
Than my 1/4" deep socket is to thick to fit into the hole, while smaller sockets have 1/4" base and will not go there neither.
Do I need a special tool for it?
I havent seen one of the manual window cranks on these newer trucks, but my 92 was whats called a torx head, also commonly known as a star bit. I want to say its a Torx T-20. Usually you can find one in one of those little multi-tool 20 in 1 screwdrivers that you can get anywhere. Either that, or go to the hardware store and they should have some loose bits for powerdrills etc.. and you can buy one individually and stick it in a bit driver, powerdrill, or a multi-tool screwdriver.
