oil pump problems now what next
m8 cat back again. first of thank everybody for previous advice. ficm was out now runs but mech says oil pump is bad and probably needs motor. have great faith in my mech but just wondering if anybody else has had this problem any help or advice thanks everyone. ps pray for more snow i want more sleding time

Hmmmmm. I assume he is talking about the low pressure oil pump, these motors have 2. What did he do to verify this and why does it need a " new motor"? What were your issues that led to taking it to him?

If either the High press or low press oil pumps were gone out the truck would NOT RUN its a saftey in itself
so what are your drivability concerns?????????

Yep what Benny said you cannot blow these motors up from low oil like you can a gasser . Your motor will not run with no oil or really low oil or bad oil pump high or low press. If a gas motor has no oil it will start and run for a little while not the 6.0 .
