Looks chilly! My truck is parked for the duration.
2wd, highway tread and no weight in the back
equals no go anywhere. Thankfully, I don't need
it to get around.
The streets around here are finally cleared up for the most part. We've been lucky so far and haven't lost power. As much as I love the snow, I'm glad to see this round gone. All the ice sucked.
Well we got about 1/2" ice from the freezing rain, lots of downed trees and power lines, power went out till about 2:30 this morning. Since i am a lot attendant i had to deal with all the weather full force... Really sucks, i am glad the week of over, thats for damned sure. I finally got to try out 4wd and it didn't go well. Put it in 4H and drove to get me and some coworkers pizza and was driving diagonally most of the way, then had to deal with wheel hop in the intersections cause there wasn't snow to let the tires slide on. But now i know not to do that next year.
Well here is the pics i have of the snowfall and when i went to work that night at my second job:
This is the corner of the hood on my truck,
And this need no explaining.
And this is the result of about an hour of doing nothing at the gas station i work at on Wednesday nights:
Also the wash bay i work at when i'm at GMC after i washed an Escalade
Me and the used car manager went to get that Escalade from the car auction and walked through about an inch of water and wind with freezing rain to find it for a sales person to "show" to a customer. Turns out the guy didn't want to buy the car...
The Ford Dealership in Kirkland still had a bunch of Mustangs and Fusions at the front of the lot this past week. I'm surprised someone didn't grab a couple of lot guys and tell them to put their best and biggest 4x4 trucks in the front. Then make sure they were cleared of snow. Folks might not be buying right now, but it might help draw in customers now that are stick of being stuck.
Ya me and a few guys went all the way to McKenna which is past Roy just to get 4 trucks 2 of them lifted and 2 non lifted. We had another car to get but didn't have enough people. That was the longest drive i have been on in a long time. Other than that i have traveled to Blue Lake resort in eastern washington with a friend and his parents sitting in the cramped back seat of a GMC pickup... Not very fun
The rain came and washed the snow away. But I've had my fun. Its time for it to go. I hope this new round of blustery weather doesn't impact anyone by losing power. I have a few broken limbs laying in my back yard and the English Laurel on the side of the house is ruined, other than that, no other issues.
Yup most of ours is gone too, so far the wind has only cause me to be cold thats really it. we lost power after the snow storm and it was out for about 6 hours... All of our town was out and most of south Auburn. It was a PITA to find gas for my truck and groceries for my mom. As for damage, we didn't really have any i have a little baby willow tree that i got a while back and that was almost laying on the ground but it seems to be recovering, a lot of the big trees around us lost branches and the ice cause our cable and phone line to drop into the street but we tied it up to our van till Comcast got here to fix it. Thats really it for us but i can't say the same for others.
Last of ours finally melted away today (It was in a big pile though). My truck didn't go far, but it did go somewhere. Threw a bunch of half rounds in the bed and put the cables on and packed down the driveway and nearby roads so my mom could get home in her Volvo. Almost snapped a cable in the process...
Ya i built a snowman while on the clock at my second job... Getting paid 9.04/h at about 11:30 to midnight building a small snowman with legs on top of a garbage can... Can't get much better.
