If threre is anyone can help me when I am slowing down and turning I hear and feel a clunk in my frontend would like to know if anyone out threr has any hint on what it might be.

I have the same problem too. It has gotten progressively worse. Happens when turning at slower speeds, and also sometimes when going over bumps.
I have seen some stuff about it, and read something about it being the transmission crossmember? Anyone care to elaborate??

I know that both of my rigs (88 and 89 f250's) had the "clunk" in them during a stop or accelerate/turning. I got frustrated and decided to get underneath and tighten every nut and bolt. I finally got back to the crossmember (of course the last ones that I did) and found out that the bolts connecting the tranny to the crossmember were loose. I took them off, put some lock tite on the bolts, and tightened them back and haven't had a problem since.

I have seen a few things depending on the truck. The F150's are noted for problems with the radius arm bushings. The other problem I have seen is actually the rivets on the crossmembers for the frame loosing there tension. Try to look under the truck and see if there are any signs of movement around crossmembers or if the radius arm bushings look worn.

Same thing hapened to mine, just last week in fact. I tightened the corssmember to tranny bolts and it worked. I've only heard it once since then on a very hard stop, instead of 4 or 5 times a day. I couldn't get them very tight because I didn't have the right tools though.

Ok.....just got under the the truck and tightened all the bolts around the crossmember area. Most of them were a little loose, so I was hopeful this was the problem. After finishing tightening and using loc-tite, I took it for a drive......and it was still there.
It feels like it is coming from closer to the front of the truck, instead of around the cross member. The radius arm bushings are both good, one was replaced just over a year ago, the other side is perfectly fine. When it happens I can feel it through the floor. Like I mentioned earlier, it happens while turning and braking. Anyone have any ideas, I would search but........it isn't working right now. Thanx for the help.

My old truck (82 F100 4x4) had a clunk noise in the front when turning , it was the front crossmember . It was cracked near where the power steering box connects to the frame . This might just be a fault with the righthand drive trucks down here in Aussie . :7

Ok....so I just looked through every possible post that deals with this. What I got out of it was that it should be something to do with the crossmember. Many people said to loosen the bolts and put a lock washer on, starting from the middle and working out.... I'm going to try this and see what happens.

Is your truck a 4x4? If so does it have automatic lockouts, because I have a 95 f-150 that the automatic lockouts were shot. That made the front end clunk every so often when I turned so I put manual locking hubs in and that took care of it. I really like them better anyways. Please let me know the outcome.

This is probably a shot in the dark, but last week I was braking and turning left at the same time with my wife's Aerostar and there was a loud clunk. I looked at what I hit but the street was smooth. It kept clunking after that on braking with left turns so I looked under the front and saw that the nut had broken off one side of the stabilizer bar link and the bar was free to lift up and then bank down on the link. Put a new nut on it and no more klunk.
