I was going over my truck prior to returning from a trip and noticed that my passenger side battery green light was not showing. These are the original Motorcraft batteries with 34K miles. I'm going to get it check out before my BTB warranty expires, but I was wondering, "will one battery start my 6.4L?"
I think the passenger side batt is the one referred to as the "primary". I notice that my primary batt tends to change from green to black very often while the secondary batt tends to always stay green with very few times of showing black.
I don't know how the system really is supposed to work but I do know what I see. I would not think that you have a problem to worry about, I don't know what will confirm a bad battery other than odd behavior out of your electronics or slow start motor.
