I'm looking to try trade my new hedman header for a aftermarket intake (going with efi manifolds), so if I get lucky and can choose, would I want the Offy C or DP and is there any difference with the other aftermarket intakes out there? My engine is a stock reseal/build and am going to convert to the durasparkII ignition. The truck will be used for delivering firewood, but also will probably be used as a daily driver so my "honey" can drive the car to work.
Clifford is the only other aftermarket intake currently available and it is like the Offy C. The DP is a 4v carb only intake. The C is versatile in that a 2v or 4v carb can be used. Some use a 4 hole spacer on the C to improve low speed throttle response. The choice is yours.
I like the C on my truck but if someone will make a trade with you just take what you can get - either way it will be a big upgrade over the factory 1-bbl.
You may have to grind on the efi's a bit to make them fit with the new intake. You'll also need (unless you get the late model Clifford with the water fittings in it) a heating plate.
If I can't find a trade for a aftermarket intake soon enough and decide to bolt up the 1v, is there anything to be done at low or no cost to help with that temporary setup.
there are adaptors that will let you bolt a 2bbl carb to the 1bbl manifold.
Thanks, I didn't know that. I've got a 2v off a Ranger sittin round doing nothing, guess I can do the duraspark II swap now without having to buy a carb.
