4 years idle

well its been four years the last time my flattie ran.
got it going last nite, it was only running on 6 cyl.
did a quick comp test and i got 2 dead cylinders, side by side.

going to pull off the intake tonite to see if i got stuck valves. i hope that is all it is.
if not it is off with it,s head

or one at least.

JMO, but I don't know that I would start tearing into it right away. If it ran good prior to the long term storage I think I would consider a bit of solvent and soaking the cylinders that are problematic.........Feed a bit of Seafoam or similar while it is running. But that is just me. Yeah, I know, sometimes it is fun just to tear into something. Good luck.

I think pulling the intake will let you get at the stuck valves and apply penetrant exactly where it's needed. You'll also be able to tell if water leaked somewhere.
