Hi RyPow,

Join the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) and you can get a xplan pin through them right away, can't use it for 30 days though, which should work out good being as though you ordered your truck.

I negotiated the best deal I could and was still able to save between $2000-$3000 by using a pin.

I have access to an x-plan pin, but ended up not using it. I negotiated a price that is $430 lower than x-plan. X-plan pricing includes a hefty advertisement fee and a fuel surcharge that are negotiable outside of the x-plan, and I got them dropped.

There is a $275 admin fee in the Canadian xplan price but no advertisement fee's as far as I know.

I'm not a very good negotiator and had trades involved so I'm sure that complicated my situation.

I have both X and D plan available to me, as my father works for Ford and I own a good amount of ford stock.

I see you're in Alberta, so this works for Canadian vehicle sales? Will I have to get the X-plan PIN before I can find out that price on the truck?

Yes it works for Canadian vehicles.

You can try advising your dealer that you just found out you were eligable to obtain a xplan pin through a group you are a member of and see if they will tell you without the pin.

To me the big advantage of the whole xplan thing is the transparency. The dealer is not allowed to charge doc fee's or other admin fee's in Canada on a xplan purchase. They also have to give you a copy of the factory invoice showing the dealer invoice cost and xplan cost. There is less opportunity for them to hide things.

I'm actually in BC now, I guess I should update my profile! I ordered my F-150 a week ago, hoping to have a VIN number soon.

How did you make out at the dealer? I noticed on another forum that you have your VIN number already. How long did it take for you to get that? I ordered my truck on the 17th and as of today no VIN yet.

What did your dealer tell you to expect for weeks till delivery? Mine said approx 10 weeks.

I ordered my Expy a week and half ago and called the Ford customer service last Friday and they only showed one Expy for that dealer and VIN. It sounds like my order but waiting to hear from the dealer. The guy that orders the vehicles said 6-8 weeks. I was standing there watching him place the order so I know it was placed.

Went in to the dealer yesterday evening. They will need the X-plan PIN from me before they determine the price. I joined the EAA anyway, no biggie, I either save money on the truck or get to read a cool avation magazine for a year

I'm surprised I have a VIN number already. I'm not sure when it was generated, but I got it from the dealership last night. I put my deposit down on Thurs. Jan. 12th, and I believe the order went out to Ford the next day or on Monday the 16th. Yours should be available very soon if you ordered on the 17th.

I was told 8 weeks typical wait time when I ordered the truck.

You can also use these links, with your VIN number after the equal sign:

No window sticker for my truck yet. Probably won't be available until later next week (build scheduled for Feb 6).

The truck was ordered around Jan. 16th, and I got the build date yesterday although it could have been available a bit earlier.
