I have an hp deskjet 656c printer. Lately it stops before completing the document. Once in a great while it will print a complete short note, but mostly it quits before finishing. Any suggestions? Be gentle. I know nothing about computers and such.
Is the USB cable firmly attached at both ends? Have you tried unplugging it for a few seconds then plugging it back in? (with USB plug-n-play devices, that can sometimes reinitialize the driver.)
Do you get an error message when it stops?
Does it stop and hang or does it feed the paper the rest of the way out?
What are you using to print with? (Microsoft Word, Photoshop, etc.)
How full is your hard drive? The reason I ask this is it sounds like the print spooler ran out of disk space it needs to spool the document before printing it.
What version of Windows are you using? (Unless you're running a Mac or Linux...)

Reason: Spelling...
On these OLD printers, the rubber roller gets too smooth to run the paper through. I have successfully roughed up that roller (prob 2 - one on each side) by rubbing it with a piece of sandpaper... then clean it with a damp rag. Allow to dry completely!
I get a message saying that the document did not complete.
It just stops. When I turn it off, cuz the red light is blinking, and then turn it back on it then feeds the paper the rest of the way through. I can't remember if it automatically starts the doc again.
Sometimes I'm printing off of Word and sometimes through the app on an aol email and sometimes off of the computers print app on the top of the page under 'file'. I haven't tried it yet now that I'm on highspeed.
I have this dealy bob that cleans out the files on my computer that I use quite often. I have also deleted a lot of the files (emails) that I had saved and also documents saved on my computer in my documents, etc. I'm not sure what is hard drive and what is not. I wasn't fooling about not knowing about computers.
You may need to restart the computer after you do this.
The problem with using a 40cal or 45cal is that they tend to leave large holes in the desk top...
Thanks Furyus1...I'll give it a try and will report back. Oh and my hollow points will leave even a bigger hole, but better that the hole is in the desk top rather than my head if I end up shooting myself outta frustration.
P.S. Before getting into all that scary stuff in the link you sent me Furyus1, I printed out the instructions to follow and it did ok. Then I tried a few pages and it did ok but then it printed out a line of weird symbols and then quit as usual. I will try the link you sent in hopes I can do what it says.
@Furyus1 .... I did what was said to do in the link but I haven't tried it out yet. I wanted to make sure I did something right first. Where is says in step 5 to right click on the USB Root Hub ... I did that and all the other steps too .... but there were 5 USB Root Hubs so I went back to each one and did the same steps. Was this ok to do, and also, is it odd to have so many USB Root Hubs?

It's typical to have multiple USB root hubs listed in the Device Manager... Performing that step to all of them like you did won't hurt anything - Windows just won't be able to force those devices to go to sleep is all... I tend to shut the power management features off on my gaming rigs to avoid all the quirky little issues that could result...

Is this also for the dealy bob that makes my computer sleep when I leave it for a little while?
I tried to give you reps for all your advice but it saids I need to spred the love. Shoot, I'm not sure why that is being said. I haven't even been on here for MONTHS.
