Electrical night mare! Help Alternator!!
2004 excursion 6l power stroke. Had 4 alternators install over the last 4 years.2 just last year.truck will not start after stitting over night,jump it checked alt output was only 12,4 v, should be 14 plus.Check after 3 mins of running and bam 14.4 v? Return truck to shop where the alternators were under warrenty, they check both alt, and batteries and said everything is good.Seems like this comes and goes.If anyone has a problem like this pls let me know what you have found to solve it tx

I wonder if their using USA parts or import.
Ive had the same problem ever since my oem alternator went out on my 7.3 ex. Bought a top of the line alternator from oriellys and had problems ever since. Was going to buy a new oem from ford but got a 6.0 alternator off fte that I'm going to try.

The garge said everything was fine again!!.told them to keep it over night and chesk alt. when they frist fired it up in morn. Got a call at 8;30 am,they found the diode was faulted in the alt!! replaced once again. The replacment is made by AC Delco.Hope this last until i sell the truck this summer tx
